At the end of every academic year, there is an abundance of opportunities for graduating students to share their hard work over their four years with the Bates community. One such event is the Studio Art Thesis exhibition in the Olin Museum, where studio art majors display their year-long thesis collections: intricate fiber work, extravagant oil painting, vibrant photography, skillful ceramics and beyond.
The exhibition opening offers an opportunity for viewers to meet the artists and hear a bit about their work and experience with the year long project, but for those that didn’t make it to the event, we’ve compiled photographs from the event and asked the artists to share insight on their experience taking on such a huge creative project in only five words.
